Workshop

Final exams and term papers are fading, and I’ve been preparing my workshop for a summer in full swing. Checking my tools, buying a bird feeder. Stationed on the balcony of our third floor apartment, my shop gets an F (okay, D+) for weather protection, but an A for view and natural lighting. The open-air environment is fitting given the destination of the boilers I’ll be making there.

I’ve found the process of designing and prototyping the boiler a fascinating one. The goal of this blog is to give some insight into both the production of the widget and the operations of a small outdoor industry startup. It will also give those who have reserved one of the little gems a chance to track the progress of this initial run. Updates about when more will be available will also be posted for those who missed reservations.
